Walking
Westport Tourism produced an excellent guide of Walks in the locality. They are graded according to ability. The guide is available in the hostel and Westport Tourist Office.
Horse Riding
There are good riding facilities at Drummindoo Stud 09825616 and Carrowholly Stables 09827057
Surfing
Carrowniskey Beach, a few miles outside Louisburgh is a popular mecca for surfers. You can hire equipment at the beach.
Sailing
All sailing activities are held at Rosmoney, where there is a sheltered harbour. Mayo Sailing Club have organized sailing on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in the Summer months. They also run sailing training for children and teenagers during the Summer months. Nearby on Collanmore island is Glenans Sailing school - Bookings 016611481
Sea Angling and Fishing
The inshore waters of Clew Bay offer excellent shallow water angling. Boats can be chartered for angling, fishing or exploring Clew Bay - phone 09826514 or 09841562

Cycling
Bicycles are available for rent at Sammons, James Street. Some cycle paths have been built in recent times on the scenic route to Clew Bay. Brehenys on Castlebar Street stock a good selection of bikes and repairs and keeps spare parts also.
Hill walking
There are plenty opportunities for the enthusiast and guide books available. Croagh Patrick is the most popular mountain locally for hill walkers.
